In 'Rhythm & Flow', a cast of 14 hip-hop dancers, parkour athletes, a pole artist and musicians meet each other around the edges of the stage. What happens when the rhythms of these different disciplines merge or clash with one another? 

Inspired by the phenomenon of murmuration, where flocks of birds move through the air, choreographer Marco Gerris lets the different disciplines flow together and separate again. A dancer challenges a musician, they build up the beat and feel the adrenaline pumping. They throw themselves wholeheartedly into each other's flow. Feel your heartbeat rise with spectacular choreography around a striking set, power moves on the platforms and rousing live music. Feel the rhythm and surrender to the moment. 

Music, hip-hop, breaking, parkour and freestyle: each discipline has its own cadence. In a stream of energy, the performers let themselves be carried along by the beat and play with light and space. They move with each other and reach perfect synergy, creating a new rhythm. The stage-filling tube construction becomes a true playground for the performers and ensures you're on the edge of your seat throughout. 

Artistic director Marco Gerris returns with this production to the roots of ISH, where hip-hop dance and urban sports come together. The impressive set design by Ascon de Nijs – a gigantic tube construction – plays a central role in this. Inspired by murmuration, a fluid and energetic performance emerges that was exceptionally well received by both audience and press.
