Timeline from now to 2032
Until February 13, 2026, architectural teams could register for the competition to create a design vision for the Nieuwe Meervaart and the southwest waterfront. At the end of February, the selection committee and advisory group of residents and stakeholders began the first step in the selection process.
Exhibition 'The New Meervaart: a new theater for Nieuw-West'
In this exhibition 'The New Meervaart: a new theater for Nieuw-West' young people from Amsterdam and the surrounding area present their vision for our new Meervaart.
For this educational project of the Van Eesteren Museum in collaboration with Meervaart, more than 250 students from six Amsterdam schools — Metis Montessori Lyceum, Keizer Karel College, Damstede Lyceum, Ir. Lely Lyceum, Kaj Munk College and Caland Lyceum — developed designs for a future building in which they recognize themselves.
