Meervaart aims to make all residents of Nieuw-West shareholders in its activities. We see performing arts as an important value in personal life and societal interaction.

Theater offers a multitude of perspectives and shows the diverse ways in which someone can relate to the world around them. It enriches sensory and intellectual experience because, in addition to attention to factual reality, space is also given to dreams, fears, desires, and imagination.

By focusing on cultural participation, cultural education, and the presentation of the performing arts, we facilitate cultural acquaintance, discussion, and reflection. Meervaart wants to be the house of Nieuw-West where mutual respect, curiosity, and breaking down cultural barriers are central. As a cultural institution, we actively contribute to the development of the cultural ambitions of residents, engaged citizenship, and a rich living environment.

Meervaart has the ANBI status for cultural institutions (see also: www.anbi.federatiecultuur.nl).

The director's salary is below the WNT. Annual indexing is in line with the percentage by which the standard income related to the WNT for the relevant year can be indexed.

Meervaart is affiliated with the collective labor agreement for Social Work.

According to the articles of association of the De Meervaart Foundation, members of the Supervisory Board are appointed for a period of four years. Members of the Supervisory Board may be reappointed once for a period of four years. The retirement schedule is stated in our annual reports.
