FAQ
Whether there is a break differs per performance. On the Program and tickets page, you will find our performance overview, after which you can click on the relevant performance. Here you will find all information regarding the show, such as the duration, start time, and whether there is a break in the performance. If this is not mentioned anywhere, then unfortunately we do not have this information available yet.
With the majority of the performances at Meervaart, a drink during the intermission is included. This will be indicated on your ticket. If not, then there is no drink included.
If there is an intermission, a free drink will be ready for you in the foyer at the start of the break. If the drinks are gone before you have managed to grab one, please ask our bar staff to serve you a drink. If the performance has no intermission, the drink will be ready for you after the performance.
No, unfortunately this is not possible, unless otherwise stated for the specific performance on our website. We only offer a dinner buffet for a select number of performances. Check the Restaurants page for a selection of restaurants in our immediate vicinity.
TIP: When making your restaurant reservation, indicate that you will be attending Meervaart afterwards. The staff can then take this into account and ensure that you are ready on time for the performance.
Red Hall
Our Red Hall is arranged with even and odd seat numbers. The right side of the hall has even numbers and the left side has odd numbers (viewed from the audience's perspective). For example, if you have seats 2 and 4, you are sitting next to each other.
If you have booked seats in the middle of the hall, it's also possible that your tickets show both even and odd seat numbers. For instance, seats 30 and 31 are also next to each other.
From row 7 onwards, the floor in the hall is elevated. Rows 1 to 6 are at ground level. The stage is elevated.
Blue Hall
The Blue Hall has seat numbers ranging from 1 to 21, with even and odd seats next to each other. Seat 1 is located on the entrance and exit side, while seat 21 is on the opposite side.
Seats in the Blue Hall start to rise from row 2. In row 1, you are at the same level as the performers.
Our bar opens an hour before the start for drinks and small packaged snacks. You may take these items into the hall. You can also enjoy a drink in the foyer after the performance and/or have some snacks.
An hour before the start of performances, we open our doors. The doors to the hall open approximately 15 minutes beforehand.
Certainly. We do ask you to take your glass or bottle out of the hall during breaks or after the event and hand it in at the bar. This helps us keep the hall tidy.
Something spilled? No problem! Just let our staff know. They will clean it up right away.
There is a cloakroom available in Meervaart, with space for coats and bags, strollers and buggies. When you check in, you will receive a number to collect your items later.
Note: Meervaart is not liable for loss or theft.

Babies and children under 2 years old unfortunately have to wait a bit longer before they are welcome in our venues. They are simply too vulnerable to be exposed to, for example, the bright lights and loud sounds that come with attending a performance.
If it is a family show that you want to attend with an older sibling, we recommend arranging a babysitter for the little one. You can sit in the foyer with a baby/child under 2 years old, but they cannot attend the performance in the hall.
Everyone taking a seat in the halls must have a ticket, including children from the age of 2. For family shows, there are often cheaper children's prices available for children up to 12 years old.
You may hold a child on your lap during the performance. However, you must reserve a seat for the child due to fire safety regulations. You can also borrow a booster seat at the cloakroom. This way, you can fully enjoy the performance. Unfortunately, strollers and buggies are not allowed in the halls.
You can cancel your tickets in two ways:
- Up to 28 days before the performance, a fee of € 5.00 per ticket will be charged, and the remaining amount will be refunded to your account.
- Up to 48 hours before the performance, a ticket can still be returned for a credit. In that case, you will receive the remaining amount, minus a fee of € 2.00 per ticket as a credit voucher, which you can use within two years for tickets to another performance in our theater.
*Booking fees are never refunded, unless it is a cancellation from Meervaart.
In this case, we will do our utmost to reach you as soon as possible. Therefore, always provide a phone number and/or email address when you purchase tickets from us. If there is a cancellation from Meervaart, you will always receive your money back or we will offer you an alternative date for the same performance.
Our General Terms and Conditions apply to this. After the start, no entry is permitted. This is also stated on your tickets. Of course, there are exceptional cases. In that case, please speak to the on-duty Duty Manager. We will see if we can assist you further.
Soms zie je een evenement in Meervaart aangekondigd via externe platforms zoals Ticketmaster.nl, terwijl het niet op onze website staat. Geen zorgen — dat klopt meestal gewoon.
In deze gevallen is Meervaart de locatie, maar wordt het evenement georganiseerd door een externe partij. In feite huren ze een zaal. Een dergelijke partij regelt doorgaans zelf de ticketverkoop en communicatie, via hun eigen systemen. Mede omdat we deze optredens niet zelf programmeren, nemen we ze niet op in onze eigen agenda.

We offer various payment options:
Online
You can pay online using iDeal, Visa/Mastercard, Podium Gift Card, Art & Culture Gift Card, VVV Gift Card, and VVV Lekkerweg Gift Card.
At the box office
You can pay at the box office using debit card, Visa/Mastercard, Podium Gift Card, VVV Gift Card, and Art & Culture Gift Card.
Group reservations by schools with CJP Culture Card are also possible via a web order.
Upon payment, you will receive your tickets by email immediately. If this is not the case, please email [email protected] or call 020 - 4107 777 (Monday to Friday from 12:00 to 16:00). It is possible that there was a typo in your email address, for example.
If you requested tickets by mail, this may take about three working days. If you still haven't received your tickets after a week, we would like to know. Of course, we will send the tickets again.
In this case, it is best to contact us via [email protected] or call 020 – 4107 777 (Monday to Friday from 12:00 to 16:00).
If tickets have been physically sent to you by us, we will resend them. Please bring a valid ID and keep your order number handy if available.
Another option is that we can print your tickets at the box office for you before the performance, or send them again digitally for display on your smartphone during ticket control.
This is not necessary. We can scan the tickets from your smartphone. Please do! This way we waste less.
For performances that are suitable for children, an age is always indicated. For example, 4+ or 8+. Children younger than the indicated age will not be admitted. Children under 2 years old are not welcome in the hall.
If no age is indicated and you are unsure whether the performance is suitable for children, please contact our box office for the policy regarding the specific performance.

We do not sell our own gift cards. However, we sell the Podium Gift Card. This card can be purchased at the box office during our opening hours. You can choose the amount you want to load onto the card. Any amount between €10 and €150 is possible.
The Podium Gift Card can be redeemed nationwide at almost all theaters and concert halls, including Meervaart. For more information, see www.podiumcadeaukaart.nl.
Het kan zijn dat een voorstelling wordt geannuleerd of verplaatst. In dat geval versturen we een sms naar mobiele nummers en/of bellen wij naar vaste telefoons. In uitzonderlijke gevallen, wanneer contact leggen per telefoon niet lukt, versturen we een brief om bezoekers te informeren.
Daarnaast gebruiken wij je thuisadres om je gemakkelijker terug te kunnen vinden in ons kaartverkoopsysteem. Je kan je voorstellen dat er bijvoorbeeld een hoop mensen onder 'de Jong' staan in ons systeem. Het doorgeven van je adres scheelt jou en ons veel tijd bij het plaatsen van een nieuwe bestelling.

For every order (both online and at our box office), a booking fee of €2.00 will be charged. It does not matter whether you are ordering one or multiple tickets.
Service fees are included in the ticket price. For the mailing of tickets, you will pay €3.25 in shipping costs.
We do not have waiting lists. However, it often happens that a few places become available shortly before a performance. Vacant places can be booked directly through our website and box office. We therefore advise you to keep an eye on our website.
No, this is not necessary. Contact [email protected] and we will adjust your existing order. If you order an extra ticket online yourself, the booking fees will be recalculated. This cannot be settled afterwards.
We are available by phone from Monday to Friday between 12:00 and 16:00 at the telephone number: 020- 4107 777. You can also email us at [email protected]. The ticket counter is open from Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 16:00 and one hour prior to performances.
You can purchase tickets through our website 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Public transport
Tram 1 and tram 17 stop in our immediate vicinity. If you are taking tram 1, get off at the Meer and Vaart stop. From there, it’s about a 4-minute walk.
If you are taking tram 17, get off at the Osdorpplein Oost stop. This stop is right in front of us.
From Sloterdijk Station, take bus 369 to Schiphol and get off at the Osdorpplein Oost stop.
By car
On the A10 ring road, take exit s106 – Osdorp. Continue your route along the Lelylaan. At the end of the Lelylaan (at the T-junction, by the traffic lights), turn right. After about 300 meters, you will see Meervaart on your left.
Drive past Meervaart and turn left at the next traffic lights to park in the Q-park parking garage.

Garage
You can park in the Q-Park Parking Garage, Osdorpplein 249, just a 1-minute walk from our theater. The first hour is free. After that, you pay € 2.00 for every 30 minutes (or a portion thereof).
The garage is open for entry from 7:30 AM to 11:00 PM. Exiting is possible 24 hours a day. The clearance height is 1.95 meters.
Parking on the street
In the immediate vicinity of Meervaart, you can find blue zones and paid parking zones. Here, you pay € 2.80 per hour.

Meervaart has taken significant measures in recent years in the field of sustainability and continues to innovate. Some examples include the solar panels on the roof of our Blue Hall, LED lighting, and heat regulation through ventilation and adjustments in the catering services. Read all about our sustainability policy on this page.
The largest part of our building is on the ground floor, and there is a lift available to reach the first floor. There are also one or more wheelchair and companion spaces available in both the Blue and Red Halls. To book these spaces, we ask you to contact our Ticket Sales department via [email protected]. Unfortunately, it is not possible to book wheelchair spaces online yourself.
In front of our door, the Municipality of Amsterdam has created two disabled parking spaces. If you hold a valid disabled parking permit, you are allowed to park there. Unfortunately, it is not possible to reserve those spots, and when they're full, they're full. We therefore recommend that you arrive on time.
An officially trained guide dog is allowed to accompany you. Please notify us in advance. Together with you, we will look at the best seats to take, so that not only you are comfortable, but your dog can also lie down if necessary. Meervaart has a Phonak FM-controlled hearing system available. This consists of a unit that can be worn around the neck along with headphones.
This unit can also be used to control the induction loop setting on your own hearing aid, in which case headphones are not necessary. Please make sure that your own device is compatible. If not, consult your audiologist to activate this feature temporarily.
The sets can be borrowed at our reception/cashier.
Unfortunately, there is no breastfeeding room available.
Unfortunately, Meervaart does not have a prayer room.
The More Theater Card (MTC) is a discount card intended for frequent visitors of Meervaart. With an MTC, you get discounts on performances and on drinks and other refreshments. Although the card costs money to purchase, you can gain a lot of benefits from it with multiple visits. Click here for more information about the MTC and/or to order a card.
An MTC is valid for one theater season (August to July). You can purchase the pass per season. Unfortunately, automatic renewal is not possible.
You can best send an email to [email protected] containing both your old and new information. Once we have updated your details, you will receive a confirmation from us.
You can email your request to [email protected]. Please specify which information you would like to have removed. After we have removed your data from our system, you will receive a confirmation from us. We appreciate it if you indicate why you want your data removed. Based on your input, we can continue to improve our service.
