Talent development
In addition to performances, Meervaart programs talent development activities for children and youth. This way, 7,000 children and young people find their way to Meervaart each year, whether for an initial introduction or for years of artistic practice.
Meervaart Jong is the place for all children in Amsterdam West aged 2 to 16 who want to act, dance, sing, DJ, or paint in their free time. It is the place where you learn to collaborate, make friends, and discover your talents.
Meervaart Studio is the place where Amsterdam youth aged 15 to 26 can discover and develop their creative talents, located at the back of our building. Meervaart Studio offers coaching in music, dance, theater, word art, film, and photography, and organizes various events and competitions.
Kunstbende Noord-Holland, Break A Leg Dance Battle, and the bi-monthly Meervaart Studio Café are successful examples of this. Schools can also come to us for performances and workshops. With all these activities, Meervaart gives children and youth from Amsterdam the opportunity to discover and deepen their creative talents each year.
