A sensory total experience in which dance, visuals and sound merge into a new, inclusive language.
What does it mean to see? And what does it mean to look?
'VISION' is a choreographic project that explores how we perceive and experience the world around us. Performed by Emmanuel Coutris, Saïd Gharbi, Nathalie Milon and Marie La Flâme: dancers, musicians and performers with different forms of visual impairment.
Blurred vision, double vision, peripheral vision and blindness form the starting point for a shared exploration of space, movement and perception.
'VISION' was created by the artists in residence of Onze Maker ICK Dans Amsterdam: Éric Minh Cuong Castaing, Marine Relinger and Aloun Marchal. Meervaart is involved as a co-producer.
Tickets via ICK Dans Amsterdam (Eventbrite).

Enter a sensory landscape
Rather than treating sight as the dominant means by which we orient ourselves, 'VISION' shifts the focus to touch, sound, proximity and collective movement.
This creates a sensory landscape in which performers and visitors are invited to relate to the space and to one another in a different way: not only by observing, but also by listening, feeling and moving together.
Research and creation residency
From 11 to 15 January, a research and creation residency with local artists with visual impairments will take place at ICK's Space for Dance Art, alongside workshops for a mixed group of participants.
On the afternoon of 16 January, you can attend the Art & Care Symposium (more on that below), and 'VISION' will be presented with the original cast, enriched by contributions from local artists.
