Till Death Do Us Part (or Not)
Amsterdam Sinfonietta & ISH Dance Collective
Macabre and humorous performance based on Roald Dahl's short story Mary & William
What happens in the space between beginning and end?
Interval, created by choreographer Joop Oonk, takes you on a sensory journey through time. As the third part of her trilogy on primary dynamics—following Tides and Falling—this production explores time not as a straight line, but as a living, breathing landscape of repetition, shift, and change.
You enter a dark space. Slowly your eyes, ears, and body adjust. From the darkness, a universe unfolds in which movement, sound, and scenography merge. Dancers move through an environment that responds, where objects come to life at touch and every action adds a new layer to what you see and feel.
Interval is about the 'in-between time': the period in which we live, move, adapt, and let go. It is a physical experience of transience and growth—of continuously rewriting ourselves in relation to the world around us.
This production invites you to see differently, to feel differently. To not understand time, but to experience it.
Step in. Slow down. Experience the space between.
Misiconi believes that a production truly comes to life when each visitor can experience it in their own way. While one person loves being fully immersed in light, sound, and interaction, another prefers some distance and overview. With that idea, Misiconi developed the Sensory Zones: a new form of audience experience where you as a visitor decide for yourself how much sensory input you want to experience. Find out here how the Sensory Zones work.
