A musical ode to composer Philip Glass.

In 'Philip Glass 90' you experience an evening where minimal music, pop influences and personal interpretations come together, with music that slowly gets under your skin and continues to resonate.

Next year Philip Glass turns 90. He is one of the most renowned living composers. It's a wonderful opportunity for harpist Lavinia Meijer to present a programme in which she honours this pioneering composer and looks back on her unforgettable collaborations with him. She is accompanied by musical polymath Reyer Zwart, on acoustic and electric guitar, bass guitar and piano. He will also sing Sufjan Stevens, with whom Lavinia came into contact through Philip.

It will be a versatile evening full of arrangements of Glass' music, such as Mad Rush and Wichita Vortex Sutra, but also works by contemporaries such as Meredith Monk, Wim Mertens and Sufjan Stevens. Radiohead and original work will also be featured.

Lavinia Meijer is an exclusive Sony Classical International Artist and one of the most versatile harpists of our time, performing worldwide. She has collaborated with composers such as Philip Glass and Ludovico Einaudi and has performed on stage with artists including Iggy Pop, Patti Smith, Laurie Anderson, Ólafur Arnalds and Sufjan Stevens. Her albums are released worldwide and have been streamed over 100 million times on Spotify. Two of them were awarded Edison Awards and two achieved platinum status.

Reyer Zwart is a well-known name in the Dutch pop scene as a multi-instrumentalist and arranger. As a session musician, he was involved in recordings by among others Alex Roeka, Danny Vera, Daniël Lohues, Jacqueline Govaert, Claudia de Breij, Tim Knol and Anne Soldaat. He also shares the stage with many of them.
