'Pico Bello' is the brand new trio of trumpeter Eric Vloeimans, guitarist Mark Tuinstra and percussionist Udo Demandt. In this formation, three masters of their instruments join forces for a musical journey full of surprise, joy and virtuosity.

With the characteristic velvety trumpet sound of Vloeimans as a guide, the trio weaves African rhythms, Caribbean grooves and melodic improvisations into a colorful whole. The music is playful and layered, with plenty of room for both intimate beauty and exuberant energy. It is an ode to the unexpected; music that makes the listener dance, but also invites them to daydream.

About the artists

Eric Vloeimans is one of the Netherlands' most prominent trumpeters. His playing is lyrical, genre-transcending and has earned him multiple Edison Awards. Whether he plays jazz, classical or world music, he always remains true to his distinctive, melodious sound.

Mark Tuinstra is a versatile guitarist and composer who moves effortlessly between jazz, world music and pop. As an improviser, he has worked on diverse projects, such as The Nordanians and Dr. Jordan Institute, where his love for rhythm and melody always takes center stage.

Udo Demandt completes the trio with his rhythmically rich and intuitive percussion playing. Trained at Codarts Rotterdam, he combines Latin American, Mediterranean and Oriental styles. Demandt has previously worked with artists such as Magda Mendes and Fernando Lameirinhas and is known for his boundary-pushing technique in Brazilian and flamenco percussion.
