Aynur is one of the most iconic and influential voices in Kurdish music today. Throughout her more than 25-year career, she has enriched the musical landscape by connecting the deep-rooted traditions of Kurdish folk music with contemporary Western influences. In doing so, she creates a timeless and globally recognizable musical sound. 

With her powerful voice and emotional expressiveness, Aynur brings the rich cultural heritage of her roots to life, while simultaneously translating it into a universal musical language. Her work effortlessly moves audiences and builds bridges between different cultures and generations. 

Aynur has collaborated with internationally renowned artists and ensembles, including Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble, maestro Riccardo Muti, Kayhan Kalhor, Javier Limón, Kinan Azmeh, the Dutch Winds Ensemble, and the NDR Big Band. These collaborations have expanded her artistic reach and brought Kurdish music to a worldwide stage. 

Her exceptional talent has also been featured in films such as Crossing the Bridge: The Sound of Istanbul by Fatih Akın and The Music of Strangers by Morgan Neville, which follows her journey with the Silk Road Ensemble. 

Internationally, Aynur has received considerable acclaim. She has been featured in leading media outlets such as The Guardian, El País, and Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and graced the covers of music magazines including Songlines Magazine and fRoots. For her efforts to preserve and renew Kurdish and Alevi traditions, she has received numerous awards, including the Master of Mediterranean Music Award (2017) from the Berklee Mediterranean Music Institute and the WOMEX Artist Award (2021). 

Through her work, Aynur has played an important role in the development of contemporary Kurdish music. She connects past and present and with her music moves people around the world. In doing so, she confirms her position as one of the most prominent voices in both the Kurdish and international music scenes.
