In this unique program, two new choreographies and two short dance films showcase the power and creativity of a new generation of female makers. Choreographers Marie-Louise Hertog, Sarah Baltzinger & Isaiah Wilson create with inventiveness, playful humor and a sharp eye on traditions an intense, surprising dance experience. The films are curated by Cinedans Film Festival, in a unique collaboration with Scapino – a premiere in the dance world.

In the beautifully designed WAXES (a continuation of Vénus Anatomique), Sarah Baltzinger and Isaiah Wilson reveal the raw power and vulnerability of the female body. With humor, absurdism and a ruthless theatricality, they invite the audience to reconsider the way we look at women's bodies. Inspired by the museum wax bodies that were once intended to teach anatomy, WAXES presents a group of women who want to reclaim agency over their bodies.

SACRE is a surprising reinterpretation of Stravinsky's classic Le Sacre du Printemps, in which a young girl is sacrificed for spring. Viewed through a feminist lens, choreographer Marie-Louise Hertog sets a contemporary ritual in motion, in which a group of young men slowly change under the influence of the harsh online manosphere. In their pursuit of control and status, they sacrifice not a young girl, but themselves.

French Sarah Baltzinger has been making waves in European dance companies and theaters for some years now alongside Isaiah Wilson with groundbreaking and socially engaged pieces. Marie-Louise Hertog makes her mark not only in the theater, but also on Instagram, where 300,000 followers track her creative performances and innovative film projects.
