How do you stay connected with what you truly feel deep inside in a world full of hustle, speed, and expectations? In the performance INSTINCT, twelve dancers from Conny Janssen Dansts take on a physical and emotional challenge: for five quarters of an hour they remain continuously on the floor, responding to each other, to their surroundings, and to impulses that demand to be heard.

INSTINCT is an energetic and raw performance in which the human balances between compelling structures we have been taught and the natural, animal behavior we carry within us. What happens to you when that tension puts you under pressure? Do you clench your teeth, do you fight back or do you try to escape?

Co-creation

For the first time, a large-scale production by Conny Janssen Dansts is being created in co-creation. Artistic director Conny Janssen invites choreographer Patricia van Deutekom, known for her powerful, unpolished yet sensitive dance language. The meeting between her physical directness and Janssen's eye for the personality of each dancer creates a compelling mix. Both like to show the real human being on stage: Powerful, vulnerable and full of longing
