Writerscamp 2026
25 young artists create new music in 24 hours during Writers Camp
This weekend, 25 young artists will take on the challenge of creating new music together in 24 hours during an exclusive Writers Camp at Meervaart Studio.
From Friday, May 15 to Saturday, May 16, 2026, singers, rappers, producers, songwriters, beatmakers and other musicians will work intensively together in Nieuw-West to write, produce and record new work. Participants range in age from 18 to 26 years old. They are guided by professionals from the music industry such as Leeroy Molly (Zwart Licht), Quinna Fowru, Joshua J. and Esperanza Denswil (Pink Oculus).
The Writerscamp is designed for young creators with strong ambitions in the music sector. During the program, participants work on new tracks in various studios and creative sessions. Collaboration and experimentation are at the center of these sessions.
According to Meervaart Studio, the project is not only about music production, but also about community building, talent development and creating opportunities for young creators in Amsterdam.
Meervaart Studio has been a creative incubator in Amsterdam Nieuw-West for young talent since 2004. The organization supports young people and young adults in disciplines such as music, dance, theater, film, photography and spoken word. Many participants go on to pursue further education, perform on stages, participate in festivals and build professional careers in the creative sector.
