The Writerscamp 2026 of Meervaart Studio is over — and what a weekend it was. 

From May 15 to 16, Meervaart Studio transformed into the place for young musical talent. No fewer than 25 artists, producers, songwriters, rappers and beatmakers dove into the studio for 24 hours to create new music together. In different studios and sessions, they wrote, produced, recorded and experimented. The creative energy kept flowing non-stop deep into the night and even into the early morning hours.

Beyond making music, collaboration and growth were central to the Writerscamp. Makers who sometimes didn't know each other beforehand found each other behind the mic or at the controls and built new tracks, sounds and ideas together. The results were impressive: more than 30 new tracks were created during the weekend. 

The participants received guidance from experienced names in the industry, including Leeroy Molly (Zwart Licht), Quinna Fowru, Aelia Sapph, Joshua J. and Esperanza Denswil (Pink Oculus). With their experience and knowledge, they pushed the participants to step creatively outside their comfort zone and get the most out of every session. 

The Writerscamp once again shows how important spaces are where young talent can come together, connect, experiment and grow. Since 2004, Meervaart Studio has been supporting young makers in disciplines such as music, dance, theater, film, photography and spoken word. And one thing is certain: the talent from Amsterdam Nieuw-West — and far beyond — is thriving. 

Meervaart Studio looks back on an intense and successful weekend, full of creativity, new collaborations, good energy and above all lots of music. Big shout-out to all the artists, producers, coaches and everyone behind the scenes who made this possible.

The tracks are made, the connections are laid and the first steps are taken. This was just the beginning.. Stay tuned.
