Are you between 16 and 26 years old, do you live in Amsterdam and do you have experience or interest in filming, directing or editing? Then join the Film Lab!
In collaboration with the Dutch Film Academy, Meervaart Studio offers an intensive program for young film talent from the city: Meervaart Studio Film Lab. Over a few months, you work together with other young filmmakers on a series of short films, guided by guest lecturer filmmaker and director Paulien van Hummel. During the Film Lab you dive into storytelling, camerawork, editing and directing, among other things. In addition, you receive exclusive masterclasses from alumni of the Dutch Film Academy, who share all their knowledge and experience with you.

ABOUT FILM LAB
The Meervaart Studio Film Lab is an intensive program for young Amsterdammers (16–26 years) who want to develop themselves as filmmakers. Under the guidance of a filmmaker/coach, you work towards the realization of your own short film over several months.
Meervaart Studio Film Lab is made possible in part by the Municipality of Amsterdam and the Zadelhoff Culture Fund.
We also thank Budgetcam for their generous support in the form of equipment. Thanks to their contribution, participants can work with professional cameras, lighting and sound equipment for their film and video productions.
ZOMERMODUS
Zomermodus aan! Meld je gerust alvast aan voor de activiteiten die in augustus/september starten. We zijn deze zomer niet altijd op kantoor, waardoor we soms wat later reageren. Vanaf september zijn we er sowieso weer volop. Geniet van de zomer!
OVER GASTCOACH PAULIEN VAN HUMMEL:
Paulien van Hummel is regisseur en scenarioschrijver. Ze studeerde in 2023 af aan de Nederlandse Filmacademie.
Als maker en zelfstandig regisseur richt Paulien zich op het vertellen van onbegrepen en ongehoorde verhalen.
VOORWAARDEN DEELNAME
- Je bent tussen de 16 – 26 jaar
- Je woont, werkt of zit op school in Amsterdam
- Je hebt al enige ervaring met filmen, regisseren of editen
- Je bent beschikbaar van oktober 2026 t/m eind februari 2027

ALGEMEEN:
- Alle labs zijn exclusief voor jongeren tussen de 16-26 jaar die wonen, werken of studeren in Amsterdam.
- Je krijgt ca 12 lessen en coaching door professional(s).
- Het lesgeld bedraagt €100 per traject, inclusief Meervaart Studio seizoenslidmaatschap (gratis gebruik van repetitie- en opnameruimtes).
- Lessen worden volledig in het Nederlands gegeven.
