The Meervaart Studio Dance Lab is a unique platform that gives young dance talent in Amsterdam the opportunity to develop. Under the guidance of professional dancers and makers, we work towards a montage performance, with weekly coaching, research and personal growth at the center.

DANCE LAB 2025/2026- Compilation production 'Sorority' Date: Monday 16 February 2026 Performance start time: 20:30 Location: Meervaart Coaching by Sophie Tukker (ISH Academy)
The dancers of the Meervaart Studio Dance Lab have worked over the past months under the guidance of Sophie Tukker in collaboration with ISH Academy, on the compilation production 'Sorority'. Sorority celebrates and explores the strength of women. In a society where women often have to prove themselves, this piece centers a different truth: being a woman is powerful in itself. This production shows that strength doesn't have one form, but manifests itself in gentleness, playfulness, vulnerability and solidarity.

In the montage production 'Fragments', the fourteen dancers of the Meervaart Studio Dance Lab move through different scenes. The dancers showcase different qualities and techniques of the dance style popping, which they have woven together with their personal and individual expression. The dance performance shows the strength and beauty that emerges when you bring different fragments together. Together, the dance scenes form a mosaic of stories!
