Summer Week 2025: A Look Back 

During the summer holiday, Meervaart Jong organized a three-day Summer Week for children aged 4 to 12 years old. From Tuesday, July 15 to Thursday, July 17, participants spent three afternoons working on a program centered on art and creativity. The children attended workshops in theater, film, dance, and visual arts. 

Participants were divided into age groups, each with two permanent instructors. In this familiar setting, they were introduced to different art forms. They improvised in the theater space, developed scenes, learned basic principles of camera and film, worked in the studio with a variety of materials, and explored movement and rhythm in the dance studio. The combination of disciplines allowed children to discover where their talent or interest lies, and what they enjoy. 

It was three afternoons in which children had the space to create, experiment, and learn new skills. For many participants, it was also a first introduction to the cultural offerings of Meervaart Jong, which they could continue after the summer as part of the regular lesson program.
