From backstage at events to contributing to creative productions, welcoming artists, managing socials and solving last-minute problems as if you've done it a thousand times before — a production internship at Meervaart Studio is anything but fetching coffee and taking minutes. For the upcoming school year, Meervaart Studio is once again looking for production interns.
But what is it really like to do an internship at this creative hotspot in Amsterdam Nieuw-West? We spoke with former interns who have since found their way in the creative industry — and one thing is clear: their internship period had more impact than they expected beforehand.
I felt part of the team right away
From music events and dance battles to workshops, masterclasses and comedy nights: interns are fully involved in the organization from day one.
Former intern Melanie especially remembers how much trust she was given during her internship. During her Events Management studies, she interned at Meervaart Studio and contributed to productions, workshops and events.
After her internship, she remained connected to Meervaart and continued building her network in the music industry. She now works as an artist manager at SPEC and collaborates with artists including Ronnie Flex and Numidia.

From Café evenings to major productions
Former intern Hazal also looks back with great enthusiasm on her internship period. She worked on diverse events such as Comedy Café and Break A Leg Dance Battle and quickly took on a lot of responsibility. Now Hazal works as a management assistant and still organizes events in her current role.
Thanks to my internship supervisor's confidence in me, I dared to take ownership and be proud of my work.

Connect with everyone
Creative sector = networking. And that's precisely something many former interns take with them from their time at Meervaart Studio.
Ilse Fleur gained her first experience in the events industry during her internship and now works freelance as a photographer and on productions at venues including the Gashouder. According to her, Meervaart Studio is a place where you not only gain work experience, but also meet people who can be important to your career later on.
Connect with everyone.

More than just an internship
What stands out in all the stories? The combination of creativity, freedom and community.
At Meervaart Studio you don't just work behind the scenes, you also actively contribute ideas about programmes, events and creative concepts. You help with the production and promotion of events, liaise with artists, participants and coaches and are involved from idea to execution. No two days are the same and that's precisely what makes the internship so valuable as a learning experience.
Wees jezelf, toon initiatief en denk mee. Dit is echt een plek waar je gezien wordt.
— Oud stagiaire Indah
