During the classes, participants are introduced to the work of various artists. This season, participants will explore the work of, among others, Yayoi Kusama, whose work is currently on display at the Stedelijk Museum.
The Atelier
In the atelierclasses, participants discover how to turn ideas into art. They work with a variety of materials and techniques, from drawing and painting to sculpture, photography and film. By making lots of their own work and looking at the work of renowned artists, participants gradually develop their own style and imagination.
There is room to experiment, try out new techniques and, above all, create lots of work. The process is central: making mistakes is allowed, and so is being curious. Whether you enjoy drawing, building, filming or painting, anything is possible in the studio.
At the end of the season, the work will be presented in an exhibition at Meervaart, as part of the Meervaart Jong Festival on 21, 22 and 23 May 2027.
Made possible in part by the Municipality of Amsterdam, Fonds21 & ELJA Foundation.
