Philip Glass turns 89 years old. Feico Deutekom is returning to Meervaart for a piano recital in honor of the birthday of the world-famous composer. This time Feico will perform 'Metamorphosis'; one of the most famous pieces by Philip Glass, from 1988. After many years, this iconic work will be heard live again, in which Glass first applied his minimalist style to solo piano music.

In 'The Riesman Files', Feico will perform as a Dutch premiere a selection from the impressive film music of Philip Glass, which has been arranged for piano by Michael Riesman. Riesman has been Glass's right-hand man for fifty years and is also the musical director of the Philip Glass Ensemble.

Riesman granted Feico Deutekom exclusive access to these scores, and you will hear them live for the first time at Meervaart. The program before the intermission features music from 'Notes on a Scandal', 'The Truman Show', and 'NeverWas', among others. After the intermission, Feico will perform for the first time in its entirety the lyrical arrangement that Riesman made of Glass's opera 'La Belle et la Bête', based on the film of the same name by Jean Cocteau.
