One of the most delightful Christmas traditions is to escape into a dream with 'The Nutcracker'. The fabulous music of Tchaikovsky and the virtuoso choreographies of Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov have made this magnificent ballet an unparalleled Christmas celebration for young and old for generations. In 'The Nutcracker', Clara receives a nutcracker doll on Christmas Eve. In her dream, the doll comes to life and transforms into a prince. Clara and the prince quickly fall in love and are happy together, until the Mouse King and his mice turn the prince into a living Nutcracker. This sets the stage for all sorts of adventures.

With the fabulous music of Tchaikovsky, the virtuoso dance performances, the spectacular corps de ballet and the atmospheric set design, the Charkiv City Ballet – partly with a modern twist, but with respect for the original – transforms 'The Nutcracker' into a magical Christmas performance for the whole family.
