Meervaart Jong werkt met een netwerk van partners in Amsterdam en Nieuw-West. We zijn een vaste creatieve partner voor veel basisscholen. Daarnaast werken we met culturele instellingen, jeugdorganisaties, kunstvakopleidingen en lokale makers.
Theater na de Dam JONG x Meervaart Jong
Together with Theater na de Dam, we work annually on a special youth project in which stories from the neighborhood and contemporary theater come together. Young people engage in conversations with elderly residents, explore personal and local history, and discover how remembrance still holds meaning today.
From these encounters, a performance emerges that is presented on May 4th and/or 5th. In this way, young people carry forward stories and pass them on in their own voice to a new audience. Click here for more information about the project.

Meervaart Young at School
With Meervaart Young at School, we bring art and culture into the classroom. In the familiar school environment, children discover their creativity through dance, theater, DJing and visual arts. The lessons are accessible, low-threshold and connect with children's everyday lives in Amsterdam.
We work in ten-week blocks, three times per school year. Lessons are led by experienced art teachers. Schools provide the spaces and maintain contact with parents, while we take care of the content, guidance and materials. After each block, we invite children to progress to Meervaart Young's regular program.
Meervaart Young at School strengthens talent development and increases creative opportunities for children in the neighborhood. By being present in schools, we bring art literally closer and help build a strong, creative community.
