ISH, Carré, PLT & Meervaart (2022)
'FTBLL - Can you kick it' is a production by ISH Dance Collective in collaboration with Carré, Parkstad Theater Heerlen & Meervaart.
The project 'FTBLL – Can you kick it' started during the pandemic and led to a film as part of the NPO Action Plan Culture. In 2022, the performance actually took place in the theater (premiere in Meervaart) and the spectacular family show became a reality. The combination of dancers on stage with panna and freestyle footballers gave the performance a unique dynamic both in content and in movement language.
De Volkskrant aptly described it with the observation that when a breaker picks up a ball, or a footballer attempts a handstand, their shared culture becomes poignantly tangible. The children in the audience were impressed by performers such as Kitti Szász (four-time world champion freestyle football), Pola Gomez (the French 'Queen of freestyle'), breakdancers Oscar (Ozzi) Starink, and one of the best street footballers in the world: Achie Tarhouchi.
