Vitality and the desire to dance as a form of resistance.
Een avond waarop beweging het gesprek voert.
'COMMON GROUNDS' is an evening where movement speaks. Three performances, three groups of makers, a wealth of perspectives and a multitude of bodies that each show in their own way how to break free from what others impose on you. Here the body becomes not a limitation, but a source of strength, imagination and connection.
In 'CRI(S)P', 'Momentum' and 'Badke (remix)' performers seek each other out through rhythm, sound, sign language, touch and silence. Alternating moments of solitude and coming together show how connection emerges in unexpected places.
Meervaart Young Atelier exhibits masks inspired by the work of Jasmijn Vermeeren in this context.
'COMMON GROUNDS' explores what happens when different bodies share the same space. How distance can transform into contact. How dance becomes a language that needs no translation to move us.
Meervaart, Amsterdam Fringe Festival and the Dutch Theater Festival bring these performances together because they make visible experiences that still receive too little space. They are stories that are both personal and universal: honest, urgent and full of vitality.
